Turning off Stolen Device Protection
Instructions
Click on the Settings icon on your Home Screen
Scroll down and click on Privacy & Security
Scroll down and click on Stolen Device Protection
In the top right, slide the switch to the left to turn it off. If you are the owner, it will look for your Face ID. If you are not the owner or Face ID is not working, you must be in a known location such as your home or work. When Face ID fails, click Try Again, and after it fails again, it should give you the option to enter a passcode. If the security setting was set to Always, then Face ID is the only way to authorize.
In some cases, the Stolen Device Protection will now turn off; in other cases, you may experience a security delay for one hour. Do not turn off your phone; wait one hour, and then check the status again to ensure that the switch is in the off position.
