Encrypted WD Target (MAC)

When accessing the Western Digital Encrypted target drive the actual drive does not appear until after it is unlocked.

1. Plug in the encrypted target drive to your computer. In Finder under Devices you will see WD Unlocker. Double click on that to put in the password.

Note: If the CD drive with WD Unlocker is not appearing on your computer then please download the WD Security App from WD's website and run that program. Then continue to step 2.

2. Enter the password and click unlock. If you check the box to Enable auto unlock for user: then you will not have to put the password in every time you connect the drive to this computer. Note: If you are asked for a Username and Password this means that you do not have administrator rights on your computer and you need to contact your IT department for admin rights to your computer before you can proceed.

3. If the password is correct you will see this screen that it is unlocked. click Exit.

4. Once the drive is unlocked, go back to the Finder under Devices and you will see a new drive listed called My Passport or DS4xxxxx (DS+Your Job Number). When you open My Passport you will see a folder with your Job number on it.
